Thing to do

Bardonecchia, which saw the birth of Italian skiing at first hand and which is now preparing to host a number of events at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games, has been able to fully exploit the resources made available by the mountains, and not just with regard to winter sports.

In this valley, one can practice skiing at all levels: from cross-country to telemarking, from snowboarding to free-rider skiing, ski mountaineering and heliskiing.

Bardonecchia also offers many summer activities, with indoor swimming pools, golf courses, tennis courts, fitness centres with saunas, Jacuzzis and Turkish baths, children’s parks, trampolines, crazy golf, football pitches, basketball courts, beach volleyball facilities, riding schools, mountain biking schools and a host of mountain excursions with specialist guides (children also catered for).

If indoor sport is what you prefer, Bardonecchia has the “Palazzetto dello Sport” arena, equipped with multipurpose courts as well as a swimming pool, gym and thermal baths.
In the evening, one can enjoy art, music and theatre in the historical setting of the “Palazzo delle Feste”, featuring a packed programme of events.
